big balsam bash at the beach

one of the main drivers for the nature network project was to find and map as many invasive species around the Oban area as possible. In the course of doing this we’ve all been shocked by how much Himalayan balsalm there is in and around the town. As it is quite an easy plant to target and we don’t need to use chemicals, we are encouraging members of the public to help us clear it as quickly as possible.

We’ve put a box of gloves and some instructions down at Ganavan and we hope that you will help us by pulling a few plants each time you go past. Members of our team will be there at various points throughout the next few days but we would love it if you could just have a go on your own as well
